About Me
I am a local business owner of Rabble Books on Eighth Ave, parent of a child at Maylands Peninsula Primary School, and an active volunteer in the community.
I coordinate the Roxy Lane Community Garden, and volunteer on the Maylands Ratepayers and Residents Association (Secretary) and the Maylands Business Association (Vice-Chair), though I have just stepped back from those last two positions to preserve the organisations’ political impartiality.
I grew up in Bayswater, and now live in Maylands with my family and our small menagerie. I love the diversity of our residents in South Ward and our beautiful wetlands along the derbal yerrigan.
Whilst I currently run a successful small business with a role that embraces community outreach and development, I have previously worked in academia teaching public policy and politics, as a research assistant, and as a Quality Assurance Officer. All of these roles have given me the skills to represent you in our local government.
I strongly believe in the power of community and collective action to create positive change. I believe politics can be people-centred, authentic and ethical. I’ve been in conversation with the people of this neighbourhood for over 5 years, and I’m ready to be your next Councillor.
